Final exam
Do you have a life! This is what most parents are wondering about their teenage sons and daughters. My parents have even asked me if I would ever be able to find something better to do with my time than watch TV. What parents don't realize is we do have lives and very interesting hobbies as well. I don't care who you are; everyone has a hobby. Whether your hobby is dangerous or nerdy, it can not be denied. I even have a hobby. My hobby, however, is not dangerous or nerdy. I love to shop, and I am proud to say that this is my hobby. From what I have observed over the years there are three different categories for the hobbies that people, even me, have. The three catergories of hobbies are nerdy, dangerous, and expensive.
Nerds are the people who get straight a's and spend all day in a book. Nerds are the intelligent beings that, though they have no social life, are very lucky because with their intelligence they are able to get whatever they want. I am definently not a nerd and I do not fall in this category, but I do know people who do. I have friends who have rather nerdy hobbies. Some of these hobbies include, doing voice oversaw to every Harry Potter movie, playing trombone in the band, playing an "exciting" game of chess, and doing all nighters to see who can read the Harry Potter books the quickest so that they can go online and chat about the book. These type of hobbies that I have observed over the years are very easy to classify. I do not enjoy any of these hobbies but that is okay with me if other people actually do like these things. All I have to say to these people is, good luck with your next Harry potter all-nighter, and even though your hobbies are not dangerous that doesn't mean that they are not exciting.
Skateboarders, snowboarders, dirt bikers, and car racers all have one thing in common, their hobbies are dangerous. The people who like to live on the edge and push the limits, are the people who, in my opinion, have the most exciting hobbies. I wouldn't put myself in this category either. I am not a thrill seeker and I don't like living on the edge. In my 18 years on life, however, I have come across these daredevils. These daredevils would tell stories of how many bones they have broken or how many times they have gotten stopped by the "fuzz" while doing their hobbies. They hobbies range from skateboarding to motocross. Some other hobbies that they would tell me about are skateboarding where they know that they are not aloud just for the rush of running from cops, Snowboarding off the steepest slope and hoping to land it without getting any broken bones on the way, and racing dirt bikes around a dirt track and having to dodge the bikes and bodies that have crashed or fallen on the track. The people who would tell me these stories also told me that they live their lives day by day and therefore they want to create as much excitement in one day as possible. I know for a fact that I would not even survive on day as a thrill seeker. I know that this is true because I can't event stand the pain from a paper cut, let alone a broken bone. This hobby though dangerous can also get very expensive because of medical bills, but I would much rather spend money on other things.
Shopping, going on trips, and beauty. Now this is what I'm talking about. Walking through store after store and looking at all of the neat things can get very expensive. Not only can this be very expensive but so can going to trips to beautiful destinations and keeping ones self groomed and looking fabulous at all times. I am definently not ashamed to say that, yes, I fall into this category. I love to do all three of these hobbies. If I had to pick just one, I honestly don't think that I could. Some people might consider these hobbies to be dangerous but not I. I have known people to max out credit cards and to go into debt because of these hobbies, but I have a theory. My theory is, you only live once. Whether it is going on shopping sprees, going on a vacation to an exotic location, or getting a manicure and pedicure daily, all of these hobbies are very, very expensive. I have proven though that people do not have to be rich in order to enjoy a hobby like this. I enjoy this hobby and I am a full-time college student with all kinds of bills. I guess you could say that this hobby is a girl's best friend.
Everyone has a hobby. Their hobbies, however may not fall in any of these categories. I have observed the hobbies of my friends and family and these three categories are what I came up with. Everyone has different personalities and different interests. Everybody is unique.
